Cigars In a Nutshell - A Taste of Integrity Part 4 Tasting the Cigar
Cigars In a Nutshell - A Taste of Integrity Part 4 Tasting the Cigar Before we get into Tasting the Cigar, let me state that no way do I encourage any one to smoke. Just as I would not encourage anyone to take poison unless it can result in a benefit of a healthier person, I will not encourage anyone to smoke. If you do smoke your are warned that it is dangerous to your health, your loved ones health, and the general publics health. Do not get upset when people tell you stink from your smoking, because you do. I can smell you from twenty feet away. And when you set down near me, don't be upset if I will not talk to you and I move as far away from you as I can. Yes, smokers stink. Unfortunately in my life, I loss my mother to smoking. Lost my best friend to smoking. What terrible deaths they suffered. I can list hundreds of people I know that are suffering from having smoked and from still smoking. Tasting the Cigar Once you understand color, shape, and size it might help to know how the tobacco in a particular cigar will smoke. This is a bit tricky, since each tobacco in different cigar brands have been cured and aged differently. There are always exceptions to any general rules. With this in mind let us press on. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the lightest and 10 the strongest (remember taste is subjective) each tobacco might be rated as following: Brazil - Very pronounced flavor, dark, heavy, not a disagreeable flavor of 6 to 8. Cameroon - A pungent aroma, spicer taste, heavier than a Dominican with a flavor of 5 to 7. Dominican - A mild taste, heaver than a Jamaican, with a middle of the road flavor of 5. Ecuador - a subdued mild flavor of 3 to 5. Havanas (Cuba) - Medium to full bodied flavors of 5 to 10. Honduran - Medium modied, more body and spice than a Dominican with flavors of 5.5 to 7.5. Jamaica - Lighter medium bodied, milder than a Dominican with flavors of 4 to 4.9. Maduro - Sweet and mild to very rich and heavy, espresso like, can be smooth chocolate to dry dusty, 3 types: fermented, fire curred, and Havana pressed with flavors of 4.5 to 8.5. Mexico - Wide range of extreme mild to heavy, rough, gravely, less taste than a Dominican with flavors of 1.1 to 6.5. Sumtra - Light, spicy and mild with flavors of 2 to 4.5. In the American most cigar tastes are compared to the Dominican because they are more like the Cuban than any other cigar. The Dominican cigar is made from tobacco that has been grown from Cuban seeds. Next In Cigars In a Nutshell - A Taste of Integrity Part 5 we will get into Caring for the Cigar.
