Receiving the Signals - LOUD and Clear

Receiving the Signals - LOUD and Clear

Advertising is about getting you message out to your potential customers loud and clear. Is this better in a written format, a sound format or a video format? It depends on your audience. Are they driving in their car. Sitting at the Breakfast table. Relaxing with a fine wine. Do you see the different markets here? In the car it is almost impossible to watch a computer screen unless on a tomtom. A person at the table could have a computer out doing email. Relaxing a person could have a computer out but would they be more interested in an ad or in the $400.00 glass of wine. When are most people at their computer? This is where you need to do your market analysis. How many and what time. If two people will be on at 4:30 PM in your area of Greenville, S.C. would you be willing to spend $20.00 for 10 seconds to reach these two individuals. The answer is yes if they are your target market and they are going to purchase from you a value greater than $100,000. Can this happen? Yes, it does. Did a 10 second commercial for a truck driving school. Ad ran once. The truck driving school received over 1800 calls. Now that is a target market. The ad ran on the raido at 4:30 PM on a Monday. The market showed that people driving trucks, people in large rig trucks and men setting at home out of a job would be listing. They were, They called. The same applies to internet marketing. To me it appears that most sites that I visit have no idea about their market. Sure they sell art, their market is art. Sure they sell e-books their market is e-books. Not so. Your market are the people that need your product even though the don't even know they need your product. Get over it. You are a salesperson and you are selling products. If a brick and mortar store owner paces out side their store but don't say anything to potential customers as they pass, what do you think the sales will be for that day? If your website doesn't say anything to potential customers as they click through, what do you think your sales will be.

So, the issue is? Is it the customer that just clicks through. Is it you because the potential customers doesn't like you. You have the same product everyone else is selling, so is it the product. If you are selling tires, what are you selling? Tires. No, your selling transportation. If you have a hot dog stand are you sell hot dogs? No. What then? Why is it called a stand? It called a stand because the people that buy your hot dogs stand as they enjoy their hot dog or they can take the hot dog and run to the subway. What is being sold here is convenience. Look at your issue. What are you selling that the customers wants, needs and desires. Only you can answer the question. Know your market. Do your research. Know what you are selling. People think I sell art, but I don't. I sell something more important. I sell dreams. Learn your market.
