Why I do not Walk to Loss Weight

I Do Not Agree That Walking is the Best Way to Keep Weight Off

I'm turning 65 year this August.

I've lost 32 lbs over the last 10 years.

If I were walking to lose weight, I could have walked to New York City and back to Cocoa Beach, Fl, trying to lose that much weight.

Yes, I walk, but not more than 30 minutes or 2 miles; not every day; and sometimes not for months.

How did I keep the weight off?

I do not diet. I eat what I want. Nuts. Chocolate. Pasta and even RED meat.

What I do is drink 6, yes six 16ozs of water, purified, every day. But, water adds weight. A pound for every 16ozs. "A pint is a pound the world around."

So, how have I kept 32 lbs off; for over 10 years.

I count calories.

I allow based on my body type; 5' 4" no more than 900 calories a day and no less than 800 calories a day. That's about .015 cents per calorie. So, monthly food cost is about $400.00 month times 12 months equals a little less than $5000.00 a year. Why, do I mention this. Because the more calories you eat the more it cost each year. Walk into a grocery store, pick up ten items; you cost per item will range from $3.25 up over $4.00. (it's not getting cheaper.)

Now, this week I'm going on a cruise. I'll eat what every I want; but not enough to put on even 2 lbs.

How can I afford a cruise on social security? By controlling how many calories I eat. I walk if I want, but not to lose weight. To enjoy the beautiful place where I live. And meet great people.
